PlayBox Says it Had Strong Growth in 2011

Integrated playout (channel-in-a-box) specialist PlayBox Technology said it had a strong 2011, driven by 80%+ growth in Asia-Pacific, 90%+ growth in the USA, and its highest ever revenue in Turkey, Romania and Serbia.  PlayBox says it carried an order book of more than €1m into 2012.

PlayBox is a privately held company, and did not disclose any revenue figures or other financial metrics such as profitability or operating margins.

PlayBox says that during 2011 it closed it biggest ever project in a variety of territories including Latin America (TV Appreciada, Brazil), the USA (Olympusat, Florida), the Balkans (SBB, Serbia), Georgia (GMG,  Tbilisi), Africa  (“Assemblies of God” TV, Nigeria;  and Congo State TV “RTNC 1&2), and Romania (Romtelecom, Bucharest).

The company also said it believes it has a 75%+ market share in a large number of countries including Albania, Bahrein, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, Moldova, Nepal, Nigeria, Romania, Serbia, Thailand, and Turkey.
