Isilon Systems Announces 2010 Third Quarter Financial Results

Storage vendor Isilon Systems, whose media and entertainment customers include 3ality Digital, NBC Sports, Canadian Television and the Moving Picture Company, announced today that its Q3 revenue was $53.8m, an increase of 77% versus the same period last year, and up 19% versus the previous quarter.

The company earned $4m during the quarter versus a loss of $4.9m a year ago, and a profit of $2m during the secod quarter of 2010.  Gross margin for the third quarter of 2010 was 63.5%, compared with 62.0% in the second quarter of 2010 and 56.9% in the third quarter of 2009.  Cash flows generated from operations in the third quarter of 2010 were $13.1m compared with $10.0m in the second quarter of 2010 and $0.9m in the third quarter of 2009. 

As reported earlier this month Isilon is said to be seeking bidders for a possible sale in an attempt to potentially emulate the bidding war that surrounded storage vendor 3Par.
